Tasha has been the pastor of Mt. View Presbyterian since September 2011. She is married to Glenn McCray, who serves as the Church-Based Community Development Director with Urban Impact, and is the daughter of Calvin and Diana Hicks, the sister of Josh and Derek and the privileged aunty of Chanteya, Shaughnessi, Kalea Mae, Jordan, Eliana, Kanani, and Kelani. Tasha has been deeply shaped by her multicultural upbringing, being Hawaiian, Japanese, Chinese, Irish, German, Dutch, Welsh, and growing up on the Muckleshoot Indian Reservation. Her experiences have grown within her a passion for the church to not just reflect, but to be a place of belonging for the beautiful array of God’s creation, where we are each reminded of our place in the unfolding story of God in Jesus Christ. Tasha loves living in White Center and serving as the pastor of Mt. View, as well as coaching the Varsity Girls Basketball Team at Evergreen High School with her husband and a crew of great coaches. Prior to making the trek back to her roots in the Great Northwest, Tasha served as the Director of Volunteers with Faith Network of the East Bay, partnering churches with local, under-resourced schools in Oakland and Berkeley. She has lived and had many opportunities to learn and share life with others in places such as Utah, Romania, Hawaii, and the Bay Area. Along the way, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in World Religions at the University of Hawaii, a Masters of Divinity at San Francisco Theological Seminary, and completed an immersion program certificate with the Christian Community Development Association in Chicago. Tasha also serves on the Strategy Team for NEXT Church, the Property and Finance Committee with the Seattle Presbytery, and the Community Advisory Team for Evergreen High School.
